BAMS Distance Education Admission 2026:  Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery is a 5-year medical course. It teaches students about the practices of Ayurveda and ancient forms of medicine. Various universities will start admission for the BAMS program soon through regular mode for the 2026 academic session. The tentative last date to apply for BAMS admission will be 31 January 2026*.

The BAMS includes modern medical science with Ayurveda. After completing BAMS, you can become an Ayurvedic doctor, consultant, or therapist. The fee for the BAMS course is approx INR 50,000-2,00,000 per year. As per the UGC guidelines, this course is not permitted to be offered in distance mode.

Note: BAMS Distance Education in India is not offered under the UGC-DEB guideline. Students can take admission to this course in regular mode.

BAMS Distance Education Admission 2026-27

Typically in India BAMS course is not offered through distance learning but regular admission into various universities will begin soon for session 2026-27 enrollment. Last date for registration into new admission is expected to be on 31 January 2026*. In India students can seek many universities for a regular BAMS course such as Parul University, Bharati Vidyapeeth Demeed University, and Banaras Hindu University. To be eligible for a course of BAMS students need to have passed their 10+2 along with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as core subjects with at least aggregate of 45% to 50% by a recognized board. Generally the fees for online application form is between INR 800 to INR 1,500 depending on the category. 

What is BAMS Distance Education?

The full name of a BAMS course through distance learning is “Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine & Surgery”. You can find many subjects in BAMS program are Physiology, Pathology, Ayurvedic Pharmacology, and Anatomy. This is a 3 year long undergraduate degree which is separated into 6 semesters. Fees for an BAMS degree course ranges from INR 20,000 to INR 2 lakhs. 

To take admission in this degree students must hold 60% aggregate marks in class 12th examinations while having core subjects like Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. After completion of BAMS course you can work on positions like Ayurvedic Pharmacist, Research Scientist, and Product Development Specialist. Average salary package that you can have is INR 4 to INR 6 LPA.

BAMS Distance Education Eligibility Criteria 

  • Passed in class 10+2 board examinations in any relevant discipline. 
  • In 12th class students need to learn with (PCM) Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as main subjects. 
  • Students need to achieve the minimum marks for saving admission seats in BAMS course is 55-60%. 
  • There is no age restriction applicable to get admission in India for BAMS courses.
  • Clear NEET entrance exam for admission in BAMS program.

BAMS Distance Education in India

BAMS course is not yet available in India through distance mode because it’s a practical, clinical and hands on experience required course. Which is not possible from distance learning mode. The Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine & Surgery mainly focuses on topics like modern medical sciences and traditional ayurvedic. Eligibility: Usually 12th grade passed with the PCB as core subjects and having 50% aggregate marks. 

Duration: Typically 5 years

Fees: INR 1.15 lakh approx

BAMS Distance Education Banaras Hindu University (BHU)

Eligibility: Passed 10+2 class with at least 50% aggregate and also studied with PCB subjects. 

Duration: 5 years 

Fees: INR 52,000 approx

Admission: Currently Admission for the BAMS program is ongoing and the last date is 26th, February 2026*.

BAMS Distance Education IGNOU

IGNOU is currently not providing a Distance BAMS course. Here below you can see some basic information about the BAMS course. 

Eligibility: 10+2 grade passed with 50% marks minimum and also need to have PCB subjects in the class 12th. 

Duration: 5 years minimum

Fees: INR 1 lakh approx

Admission: Admission is currently ongoing you can apply for the admission. 

Subjects: Anatomy, Padarth Vigyan, Dravyaguna, Sanskrit and Physiology. 

BAMS Distance Education Delhi University (Sol)

DU Sol is not offering BAMS by Distance Education mode. But from the table below you can see general details about the BAMS program. 

Eligibility: Class 12th completed by a recognized board with 50% aggregate and required to study with PCB subjects. 

Duration: 5 years 

Fees: INR 90,000 approx

BAMS degree distance education is not possible at this time in India but students can do this course from regular universities.

Ans. A Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery is not valid in foreign countries directly.

Ans. No, to understand & know Ayurveda you must do a course of BAMS without BAMS you cant get knowledge of Ayurveda.
